Sharman Muruvan is an experienced and qualified project management professional with a career spanning over 25 years across the mining, construction, commercial and utilities sectors in Australia and internationally. He has a proven track record in leading teams across complex projects from the design stage through to operational handover. In recent years, he has specialised in optimisation projects, upgrades and sustaining capital works in the mining sector, generally for Tier 1 customers. He has consistently delivered projects that meet all key project performance requirements from both the client and the EPCM’s perspectives. A signification portion of these projects have been delivered under fixed priced commercial models.
His record of successful project delivery is underpinned by a strong capability in the development and articulation of execution strategy, a focus on managing client, contractor and internal stakeholder relationships, a demonstrable record in the effective implementation of project controls systems and an ability to ensure that project teams are fully accountable for outcomes across all levels.
He is involved with all aspects from feasibility studies through to project development, engineering management, tendering and execution and the requisite gating processes through the business case development, value management and overall project life cycle. This involves managing 3rd party contractors, alignment and planning and detailed schedule development.
He is passionate about delivering value for money by providing clear direction and growing healthy project teams. He does this by coaching and mentorship so that everyone is always aware of the linkage between the project’s strategic drivers and their roles and functions. This drives accountability at all levels and provides the best possible shot at success.
